The miracle of our solar system inspired this quilt. The center squares are deconstructing, flying off, defying gravity.  Or could be seen as flying in because of gravity.

Hard to say, but overlaying phenomenon of the total solar eclipse that passed across our country on August 21, 2017. inspired the completion of this quilt with the eclipse photo prints appliques onto the grid of multicolored squares.

I was watching Hurricane Irma tracking across Florida on TV while making this quilt. What started out as an abstract design evolved into something that reminds me of the circling winds of Irma. Coincidently, the block pattern reminded me of what an electrical grid might look like.
