Promised Land was quite literally born on the floor of a Guilford Art Center classroom. Having white cotton at the ready, I rubbed the surface with available pencils, charcoal, and markers. As dyes and paints were handy, I poured blue and green down over the piece, mixing serendipitously. The total, after stitching, told me just exactly where my home was after years of relocations. I’d found the Promised Land.
