Chip on an Old Log
A chipmunk who lived near our wood-pile was often spotted watching us, as we watched him, however, he often didn’t sit still long enough to get a photograph. I finally got a good photograph of him on an old log in our woodpile and combined it in Photoshop with another photograph to make the composition.
I printed the photo using disperse dye on polyester, thread painted the chipmunk, and created trapunto with 2-5 layers wool batting, black cotton backing, machine appliqued, and free-motion machine quilted.
White Throated Sparrow
White-throated sparrows visit our feeder frequently in the Winter, and this one liked to perch just outside our window on our bushes, so I photographed him, transferred the image to fabric, then free-motion machine embroidered the bird, and using 2-5l layers of wool batting created the bird in trapunto and then free-motion quilted the rest of the piece.
